Just in case you somehow managed to find me here on Blogger, I don't live here anymore --- haven't for quite some time, but cannot figure out how the heck to close this blog! It seems, somehow tied into my Goggle account. Oy, Vey!
Anyway, if you are looking for Ambling & Rambling or javaj240 or Jackie DeMuro's blog, please click on any one of those links and join me where I really blog!

The ramblings of a 40-something self-taught crocheter/knitter; sometimes I throw in a waitress rant for good measure!
First post 9/3/10
This is my first post... so I am testing.
There is probably an about me section somewhere around here, but damned if I can find it.
About a year ago I transferred my longstanding addiction to alcohol to a newfound addiction to crocheting; last week I decided that, while I have certainly not mastered crochet yet, I would teach myself to knit. Addicts are historically gluttons for punishment. But, sometimes we learn, and sometimes we can even change.
Also, if I am crocheting/knitting, then I am not smoking, drinking, thinking of drinking, planning on drinking, etc... you get the idea. Also, my husband loves to watch movies... I am a Netflix widow. Me, not so much with the movies... what I have discovered is that if I sit in the living room on the couch knitting or crocheting while he is watching a movie it appears that I, too, am watching the movie. So, it keeps the peace.
I have a 14-year-old daughter who starts high school in a few days. I am hoping that the knitting/crocheting will keep me from falling off the wagon during her adolescence... already a trying experience.
I really thought that this post would sound much more clever. Alas, it is what it is... will try to be cleverer later.
